How to Make Chocolate Peppermint Pudding Cups
Your holiday party planning to-do list probably looks something like this: put up decorations, set the table, plan the dinner, wrap the presents, etc. That's why this quick and easy dessert recipe for decadent chocolate peppermint pudding cups is so great! This dessert combines two of the most popular tastes of the holidays—chocolate and peppermint.
It’s easy to assemble, but tastes like it took hours to make. It is perfect for the kids, but adults will love it too. You will be sure to impress guests of all ages with this recipe without having the added stress of baking something extravagant.
What You’ll Need (yields 6 servings):
- 6 cups of store bought chocolate pudding
- 1 cup of candy peppermints
- 6 mini candy canes
- 6 strawberries
- 1 chocolate bar (dark or milk, whichever you prefer)
- 6 parfait or martini glasses
Step 1: Before assembling your chocolate peppermint cups, first chop the peppermint candy into small pieces using either a food processor or sharp knife.
Step 2: Use a sharp knife or vegetable peeler to shave the chocolate bar into small pieces. This will be used later as a garnish.
Step 3: Cut your strawberries in half and set aside for later as well.
Step 4: Now you’re ready to start assembling! First, place ½ a cup of your chocolate pudding into your glass to fill the bottom.
Step 5: Next, sprinkle a layer of your crushed peppermint candy over the top of your pudding.
Step 6: Place another ½ cup of your pudding in your glass.
Step 7: Sprinkle another layer of your peppermint candy over the top. Also sprinkle some of your chocolate shavings over the top of your peppermint candy. Garnish with a candy cane and a strawberry.
Step 8: Repeat steps 1-7 for the remaining cups.
Step 9: Once you have assembled all of your peppermint pudding cups, chill them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
