National Golf Lover's Day

Today is National Golf Lover’s Day! Did you know that over 47 million Americans aged 6+ played golf last year? This game is a beloved sport that has grown in popularity over the last decade.

It’s thought that the game of golf originated in 15th century Scotland. The word "golf" comes from the Old Scots "gowf," which means to hit or strike. The game eventually became so popular in Scotland that the King officially banned it in 1457 because it was deemed a distraction from essential military training! Thankfully, the ban was lifted in the early 1500s.

To celebrate National Golf Lover’s Day, get out your clubs and enjoy a round with some friends!
