Longer days and warmer weather set the stage for any Spring gathering. Invite friends over for a casual brunch, or go all out with a formal dinner party decorated in a soft pastel palette.
Whether it’s as celebration with friends or a baby or bridal shower, spring parties are the perfect time to focus on beautiful table centerpieces and decorations. Winter has left us and blossoms are blooming – why not reflect that in your tablescape?
From fresh flowers to found objects, there are many easy DIY projects you can take on to decorate for your party. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Dress up your place settings with a few fresh tulips. Pick up a bunch or two from your local florist and start this easy decorating task. Place a single tulip at each place setting, whether on the plate itself or between a napkin ring and linen napkin. This small touch goes a long way to brighten up your table.
Make a DIY centerpiece with easy to find items. Use fresh fruit such as lemons, limes, and oranges to add pops of color to the table. Stack pyramids of fruit on cake stands or fill up glass bowls. You can even slices up some citrus and line the inside of a square vase with the fruit before filling with water and fresh flowers.
Personalize it. Even if the party isn’t very formal, it can be a great idea to make hand-lettered or printed seating cards. If you are hosting a seated meal, make each guest feel special with an assigned seat. Or, if guests don’t all know each other, have them pick up seating cards from a side table, and choose their own seat after mingling.
