The Sandy Spring Museum, situated in northeastern Montgomery County, Md., was founded in 1981 as the established community of farms, pastureland and, winding roads were undergoing suburban transformation. The museum’s mission is to invite visitors to leverage the past to shape their future, using Sandy Spring’s historical legacy rich in social reform, innovation, education, and cultural achievement as a springboard. This renovated historic carriage house gallery hosts receptions, meetings and other social, corporate and non-profit events of up to 200 people standing or 65-75 people seated (dining style). The space features high ceilings, clean white walls and hardwood floors. The layout, a large main room, two smaller rooms and a garage allows for flexibility of use. The gallery presents a dual series of international and local contemporary art exhibitions providing an exceptional backdrop for events. Rental rates are as follows: Friday-Sunday base rate is $700, that includes the first three hours as well as one hour for set up/clean up bringing it to 4 hours. Each additional hour is $250. The Monday-Thursday base rate is $600 for the first three hours, including one hour for set up/clean up, bringing the total time up to 4 hours. Then $200 for each additional hour. 501c(3) organizations receive a 15% discount off total rental fees.
