Victorian Tea Party Shower
A Victorian Tea Party is the epitome of a girlie event and makes the perfect theme for a baby shower or bridal shower! Here are some terrific ideas for planning a tea party shower for a bride or mom-to-be!
- Centerpieces: Decorate for your tea party by filling vases with calla lilies and pink roses for the center pieces, then place them on top of crocheted doilies. Around the vases, drape pieces of satin ribbon, lace, and strings of pearls.
- Tea Settings: In the weeks leading up to the tea party shower, scour yard sales and antique shops for old-fashioned cups and saucers. When all the sets are displayed together, the mismatched settings looked absolutely charming with their floral accents and delicate features.
- Decorations: If you want to put a little twist on your Victorian tea party, take some of the extra cups and hang them from your chandelier with satin ribbon and glass beads as seen below. The affect is really stunning, especially the way the light reflects off the beads.
- Menu: Have several varieties of tea for guests and serve with scones, tiny blueberry muffins, and croissants--all on antique silver trays. Cupcakes topped with delicate flowers in frosting colors mismatched to "match" the cups and saucers add to the charm.
Let guests know on your invitations the theme of the event. They may want to bring their own special teas, or provide a special themed gift for the guest of honor!
