Spring Dessert Recipes

 

There are lots of reasons to celebrate in the spring, from Easter to graduation. For every celebration, you need an ample amount of spring party desserts. While pies and cakes are OK choices, we've collected a few spring party recipes that will be favorites for a long time to come.

Spring Dessert Recipes

Three Berry Cobbler: One of the sweetest spring dessert ideas, best if made with fresh berries.

 

 

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsps. baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 3 cups fresh blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar

 

Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar and baking powder in a bowl. Add milk and butter and stir gently. Spread the batter in a greased 2-quart square baking pan. Scatter the berries over the batter with the rest of the sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until browned on top. Serve warm with ice cream. 

Peach Cake: Spring desserts are best served warm with ice cream!

 

  • 1/4 cup butter 
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2-2 cups sliced, pitted and peeled peaches 
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened 
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk

 

Melt 1/4 cup butter in an 8x8-inch baking pan in a warm oven at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and add brown sugar, spreading evenly. Arrange the peaches over the sugar mixture and set aside. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. In a large bowl, beat the rest of the butter on high speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar and beat. Add egg  and vanilla and beat. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk and beat on low speed. Spread the batter over the peaches. Bake for 40 minutes and cool for 10 minutes. Loosen cake and invert on large plate. Serve warm.
