OK all you basketball fans, let's talk March Madness party planning.

Team colors are always my favorite choice for decoration and food themes, and can also be a great way to get your party guests involved in the basketball action.

If you've got a favorite college basketball team, why not use their colors to decorate your party space? Charlie's a big UConn fan, for example, so blue and white always figure prominently into our party decorations.

One of my favorite ways to get those team colors into every aspect of my party decorations is using ribbon that matches a team's color as a way of decorating the stems of wine glasses or even putting together an oversized bow for a centerpiece.

Another great way to sneak team colors into your decor is by adding a few drops of food coloring that matches your team's colors into each cube in an ice tray, freezing the cubes, and then popping them into water glasses on your table at dinner. 

As for getting your guests involved in the team color party theme, ask each guest to come dressed head to toe in their team's colors.

Put together several gifts bags whose color schemes correspond to the most popular team colors (blue, green, yellow, red, etc.), and hand them over to the fan who shows the most team pride at your party.
