Host a Homey Housewarming Party

In celebration of moving into a new house or apartment, a housewarming party is a great way to get your friends and family together to show off your new place. It’s also a fantastic way to meet your new neighbors!

Housewarming parties are usually casual affairs so just a simple online invitation works for inviting your guests and keeping track of who's coming. Be sure to include directions to your new place on the invitations as well. When inviting your new neighbors to the event, it may be best to just go door to door to invite them. However you can add them to your guests list to keep track of your total guests coming.

It’s important to keep in mind that the focus of the party is your new house. You don’t need decorations or games to amuse your guests with during the party, because it will only take away from the house. The only preparation you need to do is make sure that all your unpacking is complete and that your new place is clean.

Some additional considerations to create a homey ambiance include fresh flowers and candles which create a warmth to your home. Play with the lighting too as lighting can have a major impact on the mood of a party. You can also create a playlist of nice background music for your guests to enjoy while mingling and touring your new digs.

Appetizers and desserts are perfect dishes to serve during the party or any other types of finger foods. For drinks, you can serve alcoholic beverages if you choose to do so, or you can just stick to soft drinks.

Remember that this event is a celebration of you and your new house. Don’t fuss too much and have a great time!

Enjoy Planning.
