5 Ways to Find the Perfect Baby Shower Theme

Baby shower hosts often find it challenging to come up with a baby shower theme that will impress the mother-to-be. Once you start to think about the mother, the baby, and the shower, you often find that the right baby shower theme idea will present itself.

Here are some things to consider when you pick a baby shower theme:

Is the baby a boy or a girl? This will help you determine if you can go with a gender specific theme (princess vs pirate) or color scheme (pink vs blue), or something gender neutral, like the alphabet or a safari theme.

During which season will the baby be born? For fall babies, you can go with a harvest theme, whereas a summer baby you might consider a beach baby theme.

What does the mother enjoy? Maybe the mom-to-be could use some pampering, so you could host a spa shower. Or maybe she loves to travel so you could host a French or Italian-inspired baby shower. Or maybe she has a favorite movie or book that could serve as inspiration for a baby shower theme.

Where will the shower be hosted? Perhaps your shower location lends itself to a certain theme? A backyard baby shower could easily be transformed into an enchanted forest, for example.

What type of shower will it be? Are you planning a big shower at a rented hall or an intimate shower at someone's house? Dinner or bunch? A victorian tea party works well for a brunch or lunch, but maybe not as well for a dinner shower.

Once you've picked a theme, you can incorporate it throughout with the invitations, favors, decorations, and party supplies. The mother-to-be will be more than impressed that you went through the effort to make her shower a special day to remember!
