5 Unique Margarita Recipes for Cinco de Mayo
Hosting a Cinco de Mayo Party this year? Spice up your party with original margaritas that your guests and friends will love. Make it extra fun and invite guests to decorate their own margarita glass before serving the drinks. Not having a party? You can still celebrate and try one of these great recipes!
- 1 c. chopped peeled mango (about 1 large)
- 6 tbsp. chopped ripe peeled avocado
- 6 tbsp. fresh lime juice
- ¼ c. tequila
- ¼ c. orange juice
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. orange-flavored liqueur
- 4 lime wedges (optional)
Combine first 8 ingredients in a blender; blend until smooth. Divide the mixture evenly among 4 glasses. Serve drinks with lime wedges, if desired. Rub the rim of each empty glass with a lime wedge, and then with salt and chili powder for an extra kick.
- 1 c. dried hibiscus blossoms (about 2 oz.)
- 3 c. water
- ¾ c. sugar
- 1 ¼ c. tequila
- ½ c. fresh lime juice
- 1/3 c. orange-flavored liqueur
- 8 lime slices
Place hibiscus blossoms in a strainer; rinse under cold water. Combine blossoms, water, and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes. Strain; discard blossoms. Cover and chill hibiscus mixture. Combine hibiscus mixture, tequila, juice, and orange-flavored liqueur. Serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices.
- 8 oz. Tequila Blanco
- 4 oz. Limoncello
- 8 oz. freshly-squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice
- ½ oz. agave nectar
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake well. Let sit for a few minutes to let chill and the flavors combine. Strain into an ice-filled glasses and garnish with lemon zest.
- 8 oz. tequila
- 4 oz. limoncello
- 4 oz. raspberry-flavored liqueur
- 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 2 c. mixed fruit, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries
- 3 c. ice
- Blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries for garnish
Put all ingredients in a blender, adding ice last. Blend until smooth.Pour into glasses, garnish with mixed fruit on a skewer, and serve.
Strawberry Sriracha Margaritas
2 c. strawberries, hulled and chopped
½ c. tequila
¼ c. orange-flavored liquor
1 tbsp. agave nectar
½ tsp. Sriracha
2 c. ice
Add all ingredients to a blender, blend until smooth. Pour into a sugar rimmed margarita glass.
