Transgender Day of Visibility
Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. This day celebrates transgender people worldwide and helps shine a light on the discrimination they face.
The holiday was founded in 2009 by transgender activist Rachel Crandall. Rachel realized that the only transgender-focused day at the time was the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which memoralizes transgender people who were murdered. She created Transgender Day of Visibility to to highlight and celebrate living transgender community members and their accomplishments.
Take some time today to learn more about transgender history and send a Transgender Day ecard to your friends to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility!
- March 31, 2022 is also World Backup Day
