Total Solar Eclipse
The Total Solar Eclipse is today! This rare event occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and Sun and completely blocks the Sun’s face, creating pure darkness mid-afternoon.
The eclipse will be visible across the US, Canada, and Mexico at different times this afternoon. If you live in Massachusetts, for example, the eclipse will begin around 2 PM ET and end around 4:30 PM. Check out this state-by-state guide to find the best time to watch based on your location. The longest duration of totality, or the amount of time that the Sun is completely blocked by the Moon, will be 4 minutes, 28 seconds near Torreón, Mexico.
To celebrate, send a digital Solar Eclipse greeting card to loved ones or gather friends and family to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event with an online Solar Eclipse Watch Party invitation. Provide Eclipse viewing glasses and encourage everyone to decorate them with space-themed stickers, pom pom planets, and galactic glitter, then enjoy the spectacular view!
