Today's Reason to Celebrate

November 28, 2020 is

Small Business Saturday

Today is Small Business Saturday! Founded by American Express in 2010, this day encourages consumers to shop local and support small businesses in their community. Since its inception, the day has become an annual shopping tradition for many families during the holidays!

Small Business Saturday was initiated in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis as a way to positively impact local businesses and neighborhoods. Small businesses face tough financial challenges, and this day serves as a reminder to support local entrepreneurs today and every day.

On this day, many local shops will participate in community events and offer special promotions. You can find places to “shop small” this year with this handy map. Can’t make it out to the shops today? You can still support your community and share your favorite local businesses on social media with the hashtags #SmallBizSat and #SmallBusinessSaturday.
