National Doctors' Day
Today is National Doctors' Day. This holiday is all about celebrating the thousands of physicians who dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of others.
On this day in 1842, general anesthesia was used for the very first time in surgery. The use of general anesthesia represented a significant development in modern medicine, and showed the personal commitment of doctors to continuous medical advancement. In 1991, George H.W. Bush dedicated this day to the celebration of doctors and physicians nationwide.
To celebrate National Doctors’ Day, send a digital Frontline Worker Recognition card to a doctor in your life. Thank them for their admirable commitment to the health and happiness of our loved ones.
