Today's Reason to Celebrate

December 25, 2024 is

Christmas

Today is Christmas! Deck the halls with boughs of holly and send free Christmas eCards to family and friends. You can even include a Christmas gift card to celebrate the season. This Christian holiday, marking the birth of Jesus, is a joyous occasion celebrated with loved ones near and far. Traditionally, festivities often include a Christmas feast, gift exchanges, church celebrations, a visit from Santa Claus, and holiday parties.

Did you know that from 1649 to 1660, Oliver Cromwell banned Christmas carols and parties in England? He thought that Christmas should be a solemn holiday and the only celebrations should be church services. This law obviously didn't last!

So hang up a Christmas wreath, enjoy some delicious Christmas cookies at home, kiss a loved one under the mistletoe, or take part in a gift exchange. However you decide to celebrate today, make sure to wish your friends and family a Merry Christmas!
