Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah begins tonight! Rosh Hashanah is the two-day celebration of the Jewish New Year. Wish your family and friends “L’Shana Tova!” (“A Good Year!”) with free eCards for the occasion.

There are several traditions and customs associated with Rosh Hashanah. Typically, many Jewish families will attend synagogue, enjoy a festive meal, and eat apples dipped in honey to usher in a “sweet” new year. Tradition also dictates that it is important to hear the sounding of the shofar—a hallowed ram’s horn that is blown like a trumpet during Rosh Hashanah services. The origins of this custom are somewhat mysterious, but scholars believe that the sound of the shofar is meant to wake the soul.

To celebrate Rosh Hashanah, spend time with your loved ones and wish your Jewish friends a happy new year!
