National Day of Prayer

Today is The National Day of Prayer! This holiday is celebrated annually on the first Thursday of May. The theme for this year's event is "Lord pour out your love, life, and liberty." The National Day of Prayer is all about communities coming together for group prayer. Send a free National Day of Prayer eCard to share your own personal prayer for today.

This holiday was established in 1952 by President Harry S. Truman. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated the first Thursday in May as the annual observance of The National Day of Prayer.

Celebrate National Day of Prayer by joining in a virtual prayer session with a local church, with family and friends, or individually. You can learn more about the event here: https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/.
