World Forestry Day

Today is World Forestry Day! Celebrated on March 21, this environmental holiday celebrates the value of forests and forestry to our community. Also known as International Day of Forests, it’s a worldwide celebration that anyone can take part in!

The concept of World Forestry Day originated in 1971, and was declared an annual event by the United National Food and Agriculture Organization. Forests are critical for all life on Earth, as they provide shelter, shade, refuge, and clean air and water. The world’s forests are at constant risk from increased deforestation as demand for forest products increases. When you choose to send digital invitations over paper, you help cut back on excessive paper production and help to reduce deforestation.

Take the time today to educate yourself on the importance of the world’s forests. Plant a tree in your backyard, choose online invitations and cards over paper, or raise community awareness on social media. Every little bit helps!
