Today is World Read Aloud Day! It is a special day to celebrate the importance of reading, writing, and sharing stories. Worldwide, people of all will participate to raise awareness for literacy rights. Everyone should have access to the written word, just like we do!
Over 1 million people in 100 countries (and 30 million online) will celebrate this day to fight for the right to read, write, and communicate. Nearly 800 million people worldwide are still illiterate, and this day aims to raise awareness and change that statistic.
Celebrate World Read Aloud Day by reading aloud with your family. Read your kids’ favorite books together to educate them on the power of literacy and why it is so very important!
