Today's Reason to Celebrate

November 09, 2016 was

World Freedom Day

Today is World Freedom Day! This holiday commemorates the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and recognizes the end of communist rule in Eastern and Central Europe. World Freedom Day was declared a national holiday by former President George W. Bush, and has been observed by the United States since 2001. Ronald Reagan is often celebrated on this holiday given his role as president during the Cold War and the collapse of the Iron Curtain.

Today, acknowledge and celebrate the freedoms that you are granted as a citizen of a free and sovereign nation. At the same time, recognize the many people in the world who are still fighting for their own freedoms and liberties.
