American Cancer Society Denim Day

Today is American Cancer Society Denim Day, one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer in the country.

Also called Lee National Denim Day, Lee Jeans employees started this day in 1996. Following their simple philosophy, “one day, one cause, one cure,” Lee Jeans invites companies to participate in the fundraiser and go casual for a cause. Employees are encouraged to wear jeans to work in exchange for a $5 contribution to the breast cancer fund. Nearly 1 million supporters take part in the fundraiser each year.

Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer—a mom, a sister, an aunt, a friend—but great strides have been made thanks to campaigns like American Cancer Society Denim Day. Send a thoughtful breast cancer awareness eCard and learn how you can get involved!
