Feting the 4th

As you know, July 4th is coming up. Consider possible themes for your July 4th celebration...

America is the home of country western music. Why not throw a Wild West 4th of July party? Bales of hay are inexpensive and serve as both charming decorations and extra seating with a couple of red, white and blue bandannas draped over them.

American tourist sites welcomes oodles of visitors each year. Why not have a Tourist 4th? For men: clean white sneakers, tube socks pulled up as far as possible, khaki shorts with Yellowstone National Park or New York City T-shirt tucked in, multiple cameras hanging around the neck, zinc oxide applied liberally to the nose, big sunglasses, and a canvas hat. For women: the same. Foreign or American, most tourists look goofy while traveling--why not make some fun out of it?

And for my last bit of party advice, have fun! The 4th of July is the best time to surround yourself with family and friends. Go for a group swim, organize a quick game of America's pastime or watch your town's 4th of July parade. It's summer!

Have a fun, fabulous 4th!
