Day 20: Camp Under the Lights

To wrap up our fourth week of the 25 Days of Holiday Memories, we’ll use holiday decorations to bring a fun outdoor activity inside. Tackle this assignment tonight or over the weekend, and create lasting memories.

Today’s assignment will help you spend quality time with loved ones, bask in the glow of beautiful holiday decor, and enjoy a beloved outdoor activity from the comfort of your own home. Your task is to camp under the lights of your holiday decorations.

Grab your sleeping bags and “camp out” in your living area to enjoy the decorations you likely spent hours putting up. No tents required! Here are a few ideas and tips to help with this activity:

  • Snuggle Up: Get out your comfiest pajamas, warmest sleeping bags, softest blankets, and fluffiest pillows to create a cozy atmosphere in a room filled with holiday decorations.

  • Starry Night: To create a realistic night under the stars, turn off all the other lights and enjoy the glow of the menorah or kinara, the lights of your Christmas tree, or a windowsill of candles. If you have extra string lights, hang them throughout your camping space.

  • Snacks: If you think your campers will require some sustenance, keep it simple with camping foods like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, trail mix, and granola bars. Don’t forget water bottles!

  • S’mores: Have a fireplace? Put on a few logs, get a good blaze going, and grab some marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and skewers for yummy s’mores. Microwave your marshmallows if you don’t have a fireplace or the patience for roasting.

  • Stories: For one night, leave the devices in the other room. Get out some flashlights and take turns telling stories. They can be spooky tales of ghosts, classic holiday stories, or fond memories from your childhood that have never been shared before.
We hope you enjoy this super cozy challenge. We’d love to see pics of your night in under the stars! Share a photo and use the hashtag #25DaysofHolidayMemories.

You’ve done it! Week 4 of 25 Days of Holiday Memories is complete. Swing back on Monday when we’ll schedule a few minutes to share some Christmas cheer.
