DIY M&M's Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Personalized My M&M’s are fun to create and allow the gift giver to infuse personality into the gift. You’ll need to customize your M&M’s before diving into the creation of these stocking stuffers, which you can do by adding photos and messages to an assortment of colorful M&M’s. Once you have them, here are some ideas for ways to incorporate personalized candies into stocking stuffers:

Candy-filled ornament: Fill a clear plastic ornament with personalized M&Ms — either in the recipient’s favorite colors or festive holiday colors. Another option is to fill the ornament with red/white or red/brown candies and decorate the outside as Santa or a reindeer! You can further customize the ornament with holiday ribbon, glitter or stickers.

Mason jar cookie mix: To create an adorable Mason jar cookie mix, layer the cookie ingredients and provide instructions for how to bake the mix. Here’s what you’ll need to create this custom stocking stuffer:

  • 1 quart-sized Mason jar with lid and rings
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. My M&Ms of your choice
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Layer the powder mixture on the bottom of your mason jar, adding the brown sugar, then the granulated sugar, then the My M&Ms, and lastly the chocolate chips.  Attach a gift tag to the jar with the following instructions on how to finish the recipe: Add 3/4 c. of softened butter, 1 egg, and 1 tsp. vanilla to the mixture. Mix further to ensure proper dough consistency.  Bake the cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-14 minutes.

Hot chocolate spoons: Personalized hot chocolate spoons can be enjoyed straight out of the stocking on Christmas morning! Take small wooden spoons and dip them into melted milk chocolate 3 to 4 times; wait several seconds between each dip for the chocolate to form a shell. While still soft, sprinkle My M&M’s chocolate candies onto the spoons and drizzle other toppings such as shredded coconut, nuts, or sprinkles. Cool in the refrigerator for several hours, and wrap each spoon in a small cellophane bag to be placed into the stocking. Stir into hot milk for a delicious and festive drink that’s sure to bring holiday cheer!
