National Strawberry Sundae Day

Ice cream, whipped cream and a strawberry on top? These sound like the perfect ingredients for a tasty way to cool down on this summer day. Good thing it’s National Strawberry Sundae Day!

Did you know that strawberries are not true berries? That’s right—scientists classify a berry as a simple fruit whose seeds and pulp are produced by a single ovary. However, the strawberry is not actually generated by the ovary. This fact doesn’t stop most people from enjoying this sweet and juicy fruit!

Some desserts just taste better when eaten outside on a hot day. Strawberry sundaes are definitely these kinds of treats. The refreshing taste of strawberries mixed with creamy ice cream is a combination that no one can refuse. So make yourself a sundae, bring it outside and eat it before it melts!
