Did you know that August has more birthdays than any other month? That means more baby showers to plan and more birthdays to celebrate when August starts in just a couple of weeks!

Traditionally, July, August, and September are the most popular months for birthdays. Here are a few more fun facts about birthdays:
- Tuesday is the most common day to deliver (according to the U.S. Census)
- Sophia and Aiden were the most popular baby names in 2010
- More people are born on October 5th than any other date (makes sense…that means conception is right around New Year’s!)
- May 22 is the least common birthday date
How many people do you know with August birthdays? Do you need a way to keep track of all the birthdays in your life? Create a list of birthday reminders on Punchbowl to keep track of all the important birthdays in your life, including family, friends, and coworkers. You create the list and schedule when you want to receive your reminders, and we’ll send you emails to make sure you don’t forget the dates! Reminders is a free service so check it out today!

The weather is nice, the days are long, the flowers are in bloom — all of which make summer the perfect time for celebrations! However, summer is also a time of year with very few official holidays. While the two-month period between July 4th and Labor Day may be void of popular holidays, it’s chock full of fun and quirky reasons to celebrate!

Want to find out which quirky holidays to celebrate this summer? The Reasons to Celebrate section of Punchbowl highlights interesting and unusual reasons to celebrate for all 365 days of the year. In most cases there is more than one reason to celebrate per day. There are also weekly and monthly reasons to celebrate.
I noticed that some of our favorite reasons to celebrate are coming up within the next week. Here’s a list of popular summer reasons to celebrate. The list includes those favorites that I mentioned — can you guess which ones they are?
- National Gummi Worm Day (July 15)
- National Ice Cream Day (July 17)
- National Daiquiri Day (July 19)
- Girlfriends Day (August 1)
- International Beer Day (August 5)
- S’mores Day (August 10)
- National Relaxation Day (August 15)
- Eat Outside Day (August 31)
If you want to be the first to know the daily reasons to celebrate, there are a couple of ways to do this. First, go to any Reasons to Celebrate page and sign up to “Get daily email updates!” You can also like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter. We post the day’s reason to celebrate every morning.

Krystal J. from Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania considers herself a highly organized individual. This spring she was thrilled to plan a bridal shower for a dear friend and loved that Punchbowl was able to help her coordinate all of the details of the shower.
She says, “I am an extremely organized person and Punchbowl was perfect for me. You can create a potluck list, a gift registry, post messages on the message board, etc…Punchbowl is a blessing!”
Krystal took advantage of these great features for her bridal shower planning. She created a beautiful invitation and included a potluck list so guests could sign up to bring menu items to the event. Here’s a peek at Krystal’s potluck list:

Krystal received terrific feedback from her guests as well. She was so pleased with her experience on Punchbowl that she followed up the bridal shower with a Memorial Day cookout! Another plus about using Punchbowl, Krystal says, “It saves on paper, postage, and especially time!”
