Ryan,

I understand your concern, and am glad that you recognize that startups also need to make money. To build an eCard product like we did takes months of development by a highly skilled team -- and this costs real money. We offer the eCard service for free, and we do place some advertising in the product. If you look at every other eCard site out there, they all have advertising of some kind. We chose to place advertising in a way that much less obtrusive (other sites have flash ads that play before the card even loads, or ads in the emails that are sent out). We'll keep looking at ways to improve the placement of ads. Thanks for your feedback.

I really like the idea of being green and sending out ecards. The one thing I find distasteful with the punchbowl ecards are the advertisements that are about the same size as the ecard created. Is there a way to get rid of the advertisement on the ecard page? It seems to take away from the beauty of the card created, and seems to be making someone else some "green" while going green.
I understand the need for advertising and it is the way that start-up companies make their money, I just feel it would be more personal if their wasn't a huge Blackberry storm taking away from the beauty of the card.
